Teaching with Data

Ruminating on effective ways to use data to guide instruction in the classroom and other topics.

Currently, I am an RtI (Response to Instruction and Intervention) Expert, working with administrators and teachers, helping them to use data-based decision making, a multitiered framework, and the Problem-Solving Process, to determine the needs of our students; however, first and foremost, I am a high school English teacher who understands the demands of the classrooms and what it means to teach over a hundred students per day under ever changing circumstances, while continually striving to provide the best instruction and curriculum for your students.

I know that data-based decision making will help teachers to better target their students’ needs, but we need to have an open and honest discussion on how best to gather and analyze student data; therefore, I decided a blog platform could help me clarify my ideas and facilitate other thoughts on this important topic.
